Sam smiled, feeling himself blushing even more deeply. “Well… I’ll sing for you whenever you want me to,” he said honestly, finding himself unable to meet Kurt’s eyes.

The blush was still on Kurt’s cheeks as he nodded back at Sam.  “Right back at you,” he said softly.  Sam wasn’t looking at him, so Kurt took a few moments to look at him before turning and looking down at the map.  “Think you can tolerate me for another few minutes?” he asked with a laugh, looking back over at him even though Sam had yet to meet his gaze.  “Only ten minutes or so to go.”

“‘Course,” he said with a grin back in Kurt’s direction. “I can put up with you as long as you can put up with me.”

Sam blushed again and shrugged. “Nah, not really,” he said quietly, smiling bashfully and keeping his eyes on the road.

Yes, really,” Kurt replied, turning to look at Sam and giving him a knowing look.  “You have a beautiful voice, Sam,” he told him honestly, almost feeling bashful saying it.  “It’s…it’s like honey.”

Sam smiled, feeling himself blushing even more deeply. “Well… I’ll sing for you whenever you want me to,” he said honestly, finding himself unable to meet Kurt’s eyes.

Sam smiled widely, feeling Kurt’s fingers giving his a gentle squeeze. “Your voice is…amazing,” he admitted, with a light laugh and a blush. “You should just sing all the time.”

Kurt took his bottom lip between his teeth for a moment before smiling back at him as his means of saying thank you.  “I will if you will,” he said with a simple shrug.  “Your voice is pretty amazing itself.”

Sam blushed again and shrugged. “Nah, not really,” he said quietly, smiling bashfully and keeping his eyes on the road.

We found love in a hopeless place,” Sam continued, glancing back at Kurt, admiring the blush on his cheeks. He daringly reached out a hand and took Kurt’s, twining their fingers together.

Kurt’s heart lurched ins his chest at the words, but they were just lyrics and he needed to calm down - but he couldn’t exactly calm down when Sam’s fingers were lacing through his and Kurt’s fingers were curling around Sam’s, squeezing gently.  “We found love in a hopeless place…” he echoed back, but he didn’t know how much of the song he could get out without smiling like a fool.

Sam smiled widely, feeling Kurt’s fingers giving his a gentle squeeze. “Your voice is…amazing,” he admitted, with a light laugh and a blush. “You should just sing all the time.”

Sam grinned and joined in on the familiar Rihanna song. “As your shadow crosses mine, what it takes to come alive.

Kurt smiled back at him, but he had to look away as he felt the blush returning to his cheeks once more.  “It’s the way I’m feeling, I just can’t deny…but I’ve gotta let it go…”

Sam laughed softly. “Yeah I guess,” he said. “But you weren’t singing with me.” He raised his eyebrows almost challengingly.

Kurt’s lips tugged into a coy smirk and he nodded.  “Fair enough,” he said before reaching forward to flip through the dial to a new station.  He recognized the song that came on and looked back over at Sam.  Yellow diamonds in the light, and we’re standing side by side…”

Sam grinned and joined in on the familiar Rihanna song. “As your shadow crosses mine, what it takes to come alive.

“Kay,” Sam said with a smile. “So… What do we do in a car for an hour?” he asked, glancing again at Kurt.

He met Sam’s gaze for a moment before leaning back against the seat and thinking it over.  “Well…” he drifted off for a moment, “there are always road games.  Sing-alongs…” he paused before smirking a little.  “You’ve already got the sing-along part covered.”

Sam laughed softly. “Yeah I guess,” he said. “But you weren’t singing with me.” He raised his eyebrows almost challengingly.

Sam nodded and smiled. “You can take a nap if you want, I don’t mind.” He shrugged and looked out at the scenery - or lack thereof.

“Why would I nap?” he inquired, looking back over at Sam and arching an eyebrow.  “I’m perfectly fine with keeping you company.  After all, it’s only an hour.”

“Kay,” Sam said with a smile. “So… What do we do in a car for an hour?” he asked, glancing again at Kurt.

Sam’s blush deepened at Kurt’s comment, if it were even possible. “Well I… I try,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck and smiling bashfully. He looked back at Kurt, probably for a moment too long before he could turn his eyes back to the road. “You… You too. And just…incredible in general.”

Kurt flushed a shade of red, smiling and looking down, nodding back at him.  “Thank you,” he said, his voice a little soft and flustered.  He checked down at the papers to see which part of the trip they were at in accordance to what time it was before looking back over at Sam.  “Less than an hour to go,” he said lightly, hopefully.

Sam nodded and smiled. “You can take a nap if you want, I don’t mind.” He shrugged and looked out at the scenery - or lack thereof.

Sam nodded. “Yeah, I liked it, too.” When Kurt asked him if he’d be singing along to the Justin Bieber single that came on next, he couldn’t help but grin. “Fuck yes. Bieber’s bad ass. I just need somebody to love, I, I don’t need too much, just somebody to love…”

Kurt’s heart skipped a beat just by hearing Sam sing, the wide smile on his face growing before he finally forced himself to look away, shaking his head and looking out the window.  He looked back over at Sam for a second.  “You are incredibly cute,” he pointed out, almost bashfully even though he wasn’t sure why after how close he and Sam had gotten.  “Just so you know.”
