She nodded, smiling a little nervously and starting to count. “One… Two… Three!” she said, and half hopped, half slid off the swing and into Kurt’s arms. Sam smiled proudly and she giggled. “I did it Kurtie!”
He set her back down on her feet after a moment, holding a hand out to her to give her a high five - which wasn’t something that he was necessarily prone to giving out all that often, but it seemed appropriate in this situation. She clapped her hand to his gladly. “I told you it wouldn’t be too scary,” he told her with a smile, ruffling a hand through her hair for a moment before she ran back off to Sam to share her good news.
“I did it, Sammy!” She said excitedly, jumping up and down. Sam grinned. “I saw. Good job, Bug!”
“Let’s do it again!” She climbed up onto the swing again, and Sam pushed her, a little higher this time. Stevie came back from the other playground in time to see her jump off the swing again into Kurt’s waiting arms.
